Welcome to the Splo-Down Community Food Group – where community, food, and connection come together
We’re a group of neighbours from Splott, Adamsdown, and Tremorfa who have joined forces to meet our food needs in a more collective and meaningful way. By purchasing and distributing high-quality food affordably, we’re not only feeding our bodies, but also our community together. Watch this short introduction video, or read more below about what we do, the benefits, and how we organise together.
Join us every Wednesday from 5pm to 7pm outdoors at the Oasis Centre for our weekly market stall, where you’ll find a variety of food and household items, as well as opportunities to connect with your fellow community members. Whether you’re looking to purchase food at wholesale prices, pre-order a locally-sourced vegetable box, swap home-grown produce, or get involved to help run and organise, we’ve got you covered.
We use variable pricing to make sure we are accessible to everyone in the community. Cheaper for those who are struggling to afford food, a bit more for those who have the ability to pay it (at your own discretion). Whether you’re in need of a little extra support, or want to pay it forward, these boxes are a symbol of our community’s commitment to one another.
Check out our Vision and Goals page to learn more about our mission, or head to the Become a Member page to join the movement. Or get in Contact. We can’t wait to see you at the market!
