Active Member Roles

We need regular member participation to keep the stall running, whether running the physical stall, or helping organise and plan behind the scenes. If you’d like to get involved with running Splo-down we have monthly meetings, or communicate regularly through a Slack forum. You should get the information email when signing up as a member, but get in touch if you want to find out more!

You don’t need any experience, and we love introducing new people and contributing your skills! It’s super easy and everyone is friendly!

Stall Running

Summer Stall running

Each week we need members to purchase the veg, sort it, and run the stall. If you are able to give an hour or two please put your name down on the rota (it will have been in your welcome email or linked in the active members facebook group).

Weekly options are:
4:00-5:00pm – Setup and veg sorting
5:00-7:10pm – Running the stall and packing away
If you can only do 5 til 6, or 6 til 7 that’s fine too, everything is appreciated!

We also need drivers each week to help move things to the stall and back:
5:45-6:45am – Wholesale vegetable trip
4:00-5pm – Car transport setup
7:00-7:10pm – Car pack away

Organisation

Members meeting (AGM 2021)

Splo-down involves lots of planning going on behind the scenes on many fronts, including deciding what food and products to buy, organising locations and transport, all of the finance, and improving our community and online presence, among many other things!

We have our monthly meetings to discuss, plan, and organise the running of Splo-down. All members are welcome and we encourage you to come meet the group!
Register your attendance on facebook (if you have it)

We have 5 working groups which we use to organise the stall, which members can also be involved with wherever your interests lie!

  • Stall running
  • Community and Communications
  • Finance
  • Supply and procurement
  • Operations

If you have any ideas, want to ask questions, or get involved in any way then come to a meeting, join the slack, or just talk to us via email, social media, or in person at the stall!

We have lots of ideas of how we want to expand but need more members getting involved to allow us to do everything we want to, and maybe you have more suggestions we haven’t thought of yet!
